Call for Papers

Submit your presentations for consideration at the BSides DSM 2026 conference on June 13th.

Background

BSidesDSM is a grassroots driven event to share knowledge on new research, experience, and other interesting topics in information security.

Our goal is to bring a quality, low-cost cyber security conference to Iowa encouraging engineers, administrators, hackers, students, and any others to share ideas, experience, and knowledge in the field.

BSidesDSM is an intense one-day con complete with security discussions, demonstrations, CTF competitions, and interactions across participants.

The non-profit event is established by local volunteers with the generous support of commercial sponsors.

The BSidesDSM team aims to create a conference that is both inclusive and diverse. We encourage security students as well as veteran speakers to share presentations across any topic in security. Specific topics that may be of interest to the B-Sides audience are listed below, but we absolutely encourage alternate ideas.

  • Network Security and Analysis

  • Penetration Testing

  • Forensic Investigation and Incident Response

  • Emerging Threats and Technology

This year we are looking for presentations as a shorter 20-25 minute talk or a full 40-45 minute talk with 5-10 minutes of questions/answers time at the end. This will also allow for short breaks between sessions for all attendees to visit the villages and switch between presentation sessions in a less disruptive manner.

We are not accepting sales pitches or vendor presentations.

If you wish to consider presenting at this year’s annual event, please complete the online CFP registration form by April 30th, 2026.

All proposals will be reviewed by the BSidesDSM Organizers team. The speakers chosen will be notified within the stated timeframe. We greatly appreciate all the time and effort put into submissions and talk selections and look forward to meeting all of you in person on the day of the event!

Important Dates:

  • March 1st, 2026: CFP Opens
